start with the eldest...

I am starting with Marie Jeanne Vidrine & Richaume Soileau and their 3 children...... I have not looked in the Soileau or Fontenot side yet because that is a LOT of info, and I think they have some published info. My focus is Vidrine and  Hargroder , I am getting a pretty good handle on those 2 lines, and will soon fill in the other families.... Hey ya'll feel free to help out!




1) Jean Baptitste Soileau - haven't found any info on him.


2) Eugenie Soileau married Henri Fontenot in 1793 ( he is the son of Pierre Fontenot & Louise   Doucet)


  • Louis Henri Fontenot  (b. 1794)  married Eugenie Reed (1826) /Celeste Goudeau (1831)Fannie Bello (1842)
  • Ludvine Fontenot (b.1795) married Joseph Bordelon in 1816( son of Nicholas Bordelon & Eugenie Dupre)
  • Caroline Fontenot (b, 1799) married Etienne Vidrine Jr. in 1821
  • Onezime Fontenot (b 1801) married Louise Duplechin (daughter of Antoine Duplechin & Marie Deshotels)
  • Louis Fontenot ( b 1804) no info on him yet, 
  • Eugenie Fontenot (b 1806) married Hillaire Tate ( son of Adam Tate & Louisa Fontenot)
  • Celeste Henri Fontenot (b 1809)  married Donatien Soileau ( son of Jean Soileau & Marie Guillory)
  • Josephine Belle Fontenot (b 1811) married Joachim Ortego ( son of Jean Ortego & Eugenie Fontenot)
  • Zenon Fontenot (b 1816) married Celine Goudeau in  1838
  • Appoloine Fontenot (b.1818) married Christoval Soileau ( Jean Soileau & Marie Guillory)
3) Godefroy Soileau married Marie Desneiges Fontenot in 1800
  • Godefroy Soileau (b.1801) married Bridget Oge in 1822 ( daughter of Joseph Augee & Celeste Lafosse)
  • Joseph Godefrey Soileau (b 1808) married Lucille Guillory (daughter of Jean Guillory & Lucille Guillory)
  • Hypolite Soileau (b 1811)
  • Josephine Soileau (b.1814)
  • Marie Soileau (b. 1817)
  • Hyancynthe Soileau (b.1818)
  • Dometile Soileau (b 1819)



Remember, I am NOT an expert, I am just  beginning to learn how all of this research and acknowledging the author stuff works!  I am having fun with this and in no way, am taking myself serious as an historian. With that being said.... this is just what I have found via Fr. Donald Hebert's books, and it is subject to correction! So feel free to contribute and tell me where your source of information is from... next post will be on Jeanne Vidrine & Richaume Soileau's grandkids!

  2. Mais la, Padre! that must be where all your quick wit and charm comes from! but wait... it's going to get more interesting..... I told you that I have almost all of the children, their siblings,spouses and spouse's families.... and I didn't have to go very far to find 'em!
