Frequently Asked Questions : FAQ

What is Creole Cousins, a Family Reunion?
It started as a simple reunion of the families of my Mama's grandparents, Alcin Vidrine/Estelle Andrepont and Willian Denis Hargroder/Emilia Rivette.  However, it quickly expanded to include the descendants of the first Vidrine & Hargroder who settled here in the the Oplelousas Territory back in the late 1700's!

The first generation of Vidrine children married into the Brignac, Fontenot, Rozas and Soileau family... but once you get into that second generation... THAT IS WHERE THE FUN BEGINS......... and they settled from Post de Opelousas westward to the Louisiana/Texas Neutral Ground and south to the Gulf!

The Hargroder's had only one child in their first generation and he married one Micheal Prudhomme's daughters. Now the next generation of Hargroders have been a bit more difficult to track but what I have gathered so far they married into the Lanclos, Neurault, Louviere, Cochran families and they settled from the Post de Opelousas eastward down the Teche to the now parish line.
