well, it seems these families had much in common as they first settled and populated the Pointe Coupee, Avoyelles and finally Opelousas Territory.....Vidrine, Soileau, Fontenot, Guillory, Rozas, Brignac, Ortego are the majoirty of the first and second generations.....then onto Lafleurs, Pitres, Doucets, Deshotels,
It is interesting to see how the relationships change based on where the families settled... or maybe,,, they settled based on family ties....
Speaking of Pitres... one of you cousins need to discover how Francois Pitre/Marie Thibodeau, an Acadian, got intertwined with all of these Creole families! I am suspecting that it had something to do with the military...
