What's in a name? Find out at the library!

Mon bon ami, Michael Hebert, wrote an article for the Alexandria Town Talk mentioned the following three books as great sources for learning about our Colonial French and Acadian history: "An Atlas of Louisiana Surnames of French and Spanish Origin" by Robert C. West; "French, Cajun, Creole, Houma: a Primer on Francophone Louisiana" by Carl A. Brasseaux and "fort Toulouse:the French Outpostat the Alibamas on the Coosa" by Daniel H. Thomas.

  1. Hey Mardell, thanks for shout out. Yep, those books are a great way to start learning. Your blog looks great! I have some Vidrine and Ortego in me somewhere. When I find the lines I'll let you know.
